SEO Case Study – How a Global Keyword Ranked within 45 Days

A few months ago a famous SEO agency hired me for ranking a keyword on the 1st page of Google. The keyword is “Furniture”, which a search volume is 1 million. In this article, I will share with you an SEO case study of how a global keyword ranked within 45 days.

Let’s jump into the deep:

Behind the Story

One of the most famous SEO agencies called me in the morning and asked me whether I can rank 1 keyword on behalf of them. At that time the keyword’s position was 29/30 on Google. I accepted their offer because the job work was for a famous furniture brand in Bangladesh who are operating their sales globally.

I was convinced because if I can rank that keyword, it will be a great achievement for me as well as my agency.

And the most important subject was the agency that hired me tried for several months but failed to rank that keyword.

SEO Case Study

First of all the keyword “furniture” is one of the most competitive keyphrases in the world. As per Semrush keyword difficulty is 98%, which is very hard to rank.

Secondly, you have to compete with some global giants such as Alibaba, Amazon, etc.

Another difficult part of this keyword was continuously changing the position. I found that the SERP position was changing every day 3-4 times.

The paid difficulty for this keyword was also very high.

What was HATIL’s Position on This Keyword

I found that HATIL’s on-page and technical optimization was perfect. The SEO agency that was hired by HATIL did a great job. I just requested them to change the Meta description and add the keyword “Furniture” to their tag.

They accepted my request and changed accordingly.

I also found that they have made some links that were not quality links. The links they made can’t provide traffic. They made a lot of profile links, image submission links, social bookmarking links, and web 2.0 links. Naturally, I use these links for the 2nd and 3rd tire of links.

What I did for Ranking the Keyword

First I made an off-page SEO strategy after auditing the website. My key strategy was to create links that can provide traffic.

Details about the off page SEO strategy

In my off-page SEO strategy, I focused on the followings:

  • Do guest post on high DA/DR websites with some organic traffic
  • Create 2nd tire links in web 2.0
  • Create 3rd tire links for web 2.0 links (2nd tire)

Building Chain of Links

Google always likes natural links from high DA/DR websites. That’s why my first step was guest posting on high DA/DR websites.

At the early stage, I did 3 guest blogging where I inserted only my target URL. Then created web 2.0 links, social bookmarks, and image sharing links for those 3 URLs of the guest blogging.

In the second stage, I did another 3 guest blogging where I inserted my target website HATIL’s URL as well as web 2.0 URLs that I created in the first stage.

Again I created web 2.0 links where I inserted the first stage’s guest bloggings’ URLs, first stages web 2.0 URLs, and second stage’s guest blogging URLs.

Now I created some social bookmark links and image sharing links for the first and second stage web 2.0 URLs.

In stage 3 I have done another 6 guest posts where I inserted HATIL’s URL as well as the first and second stages’ web 2.0 URLs.

Again I created web 2.0 links for the 3rd stages’ guest post URLs, 1st and 2nd stages’ web 2.0 URLs, and also create social bookmark links and image sharing links for the 3rd stage web 2.0 URLs.

At last, I have created some PDFs where I inserted all the guest posting URLs, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stages’ web 2.0

That’s all, HATIL got ranking on the first page of Google with the keyword “Furniture”.

Why I have Created Chain of Links

If you create a ton of links but there is no traffic, you will not get ranking. There is no value in tons of links without traffic.

In this project, whatever links I have created, I did marketing for those links, so that, those links get traffic.

When all of your links get traffic, your target website automatically will get a ranking. This is the reason I have created the chain of links.

What was My Key to Success Here

My key to success in this work was creating high-quality guest posts and promoting those guest post URLs through creating 2nd and 3rd tire links such as web 2.0, social bookmarking links, image sharing links, and PDF links.

What Off Page SEO Strategy We Should Follow

From the above case study, one point is clear, there is no value in a link that has no traffic. That is why we should create links to get traffic.

There are many types of links you can create as off-page optimization. But you should focus only on guest posts on high-quality websites as a primary link-building strategy.

You must create other links such as profile links, image sharing links, video sharing links, article submissions, web 2.0 links, RSS feed submissions, infographic submissions, PDF submissions, etc. But these links you should create for promoting the primary link i.e. guest post URL.

If you follow the off-page SEO strategy that I have shared here, your off-page optimization will be perfect.

End Words

Everyday SEO ranking is getting harder. Many of us are trying to rank keywords on the top page of Google but failed. There are many reasons SEO professionals are becoming fail to rank a keyword. If you can do perfect on-page optimization, and technical optimization, build the links as, like chain links as I have given examples earlier in this article, your keyword will rank whatever difficulty the keyword is.
